Our Mission

"My work in mental health began almost thirty years ago working with children who had been the victims of trauma. Fairly quickly I began to work with the family systems from which the children had come. And just as quickly I began to see how deeply troubled the family system is in our modern culture and not just the dysfunctional family systems that had been identified as such by social services. It became readily apparent that family was under assault by all man-made systems. This has created a deep anxiety within which is felt as yearning and longing. Families and a place called home don't just happen when a man and a woman conceive a child. Hence the deep dilemma overwhelming our way of life. The family system is an essential element, like air and water, for life on planet earth. Family as it has existed for eons of time has become the exception rather than the norm. Creating Family was born out of the many years of ministering to broken families and in the process coming to understand the dynamics of “how to” create a place called home."
